St. Mary of Mount Carmel Restoration

St Mary of Mount Carmel Church is currently undergoing interior renovation.   The anticipated re-opening of the church is early May, 2026.  Until then, all scheduled Masses and activities are being held at St. James Church in Amherst.

Unfortunately, in January hidden damage to the arch in and around the upper portion of the sanctuary was discovered.  Unanticipated additional work needs to be done to repair the arch and is currently underway.  Immediately below are pictures showing the extreme damage which is suspected to have been caused some time ago by water.
